Samsung plans on joining the 64-bit party parade in 2014

Well actually I’m not sure you can call it a parade just yet. As you might be aware Apple announced the new iPhone 5 S and said that it would include support for 64-bit processing. You don’t think Samsung is going to sit back and watch that happen do you? Well Samsung’s mobile business chief Shin Jong-kyun said. “our next smartphones will have 64-bit processing functionality.” Translation: Galaxy S 5.
What’s most interesting is that we don’t even know if Android 4.4 KitKat will even support 64-bit, let alone the fact that 64-bit is worthless unless RAM surpasses 4GB.
It has always been a spec war folks. While companies like Motorola are staying clear from it, for whatever reason Apple is jumping in, and Samsung took the bait.
