A new leak from sources in China indicate the fingerprint scanner spotted last week on an HTC One Max will not be present on the device. That would not be the first time a rumor has been squashed regarding the mega-size device HTC is getting ready for the market. Some additional details that surfaced seem reasonable though, so they may yet prove to be accurate. Foremost among these is the apparent confirmation that the device will come loaded with Android 4.3 and HTC’s Sense 5.5 UI running on top of that. Sources also indicate the Chinese version of the device will support TD-LTE, which increases the odds that international and North American versions of the device will support LTE for those regions. It also appears HTC is readying a dual-SIM version of the device, likely for Asian markets.
Other hardware specs are still what we think they are, with the device powered by a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, and an UltraPixel camera with optical image stabilization. The Chinese source also indicates one of the accessories HTC is working on is a case or sleeve that will not only add protection, but an additional 1250 mAh battery as well.
Although no word on actual markets or pricing has leaked yet, we do expect HTC to reveal the device by late September so it can start selling in the fourth quarter of 2013.
